Signed and dated '68 lower right. Fine giltwood Newcomb Macklin frame bears a biographical brass plaque that details Ploeser's accomplishments and memberships in various organizations, including his Masonic 33 degree S. G. I. G. (Sovereign Grand Inspectors General).
Walter C. Ploeser (1907-1993) was born in St. Louis and served as ambassador to Paraguay under Dwight D. Eisenhower from 1957-1959, chairman of the board of the Salvation Army from 1967-1969, and ambassador to Costa Rica under Richard Nixon from 1970-1972.
