About the artist: Robert Cleminson (British, 1864-1903) was best known for his oils of landscapes, Highland game, and sporting dog paintings. He exhibited 10 works at the British Institution, which was established as a rival to the Royal Academy, and Boydell's Shakespeare Gallery in Pall Mall, London.
