Nonsuch. Land of Water, by William Beebe. 1932 Brewer, Warren & Putnam, New York. First Edition, signed by the author. Book is in very good condition. Almost like new. Study of marine life on the island of Bermuda. Beebe was Director of the Dept. of Tropical Research of the New York Zoological Society at the time of publication. Beebe did early studies of marine life and coral reefs before the aqualung was invented and used the Miller Dunn Divinhoods from Florida. He and his team did a lot of the early underwater photography of the subjects that they studied. Book is illustrated with 54 b & w photos, 46 plates, color frontispiece, illustrated endpapers, index. A 90-year-old book, signed by the author, in exceptional condition, with laser copy dust jacket in protective sleeve.
