17th/18th C., copied from a print from "Thesaurus sacrarum historiarum veteris testamenti", printed in 1585 by Gerard de Jode, illustrating Proverbs 6:11 and 24:34 ("and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man"). The print and subsequent carving are notable for their contemporary depiction of prosthesis as seen in the personification of Egestas (Lack)
