Description
Ca. 100-300 AD A rare cosmetic spoon made of gold. The bowl is convex-shaped and the handle narrows into a square midsection with incised decoration forming chevron motifs. Surrounding this midsection are two parallel sections of incised linear decoration. The handle narrows to a looped end which is decorated with molded decoration. The strut is attached to a gold loop which was intended for suspension. Size: L:66.7mm / W:9.8mm ; 4.75g Provenance: Formerly in a collection of W. Victor Hruby, 1984.
