World.- Bordone (Benedetto di) [World Map], early map showing the recent developments in cartography and departing from Ptolemaic models, including open water between the two continents and not joining North America and Asia, woodcut, an excellent well inked impression on fine laid paper with watermark of an an anchor in a circle surmounted by a star [similar to Briquet 479, datable to ca. 1507-1519], sheet 310 x 410 mm (12 1/4 x 16 1/8 in), central vertical fold as issued, [Nicolo Zoppino, Venice, circa 1522-28]
