Woman's Ceremonial Sarong "Tapis", Indonesia, 18th-19th C. Opened woman's tubular red tapis sarong, patterning in warp ikat probably influenced by Indian patola designs. Medium: cotton; tabby woven, warp ikat, embroidery. Size: 4'3'' x 4'1'' (130 x 124 cm). Provenance: Ex. Roger Hollander collection.
