An Italian mid 18th century tulipwood and amaranth inlaid kneehole desk or 'scrivania'
Neapolitan
The quarter veneered overhanging top inlaid with three rectangular quarter veneered tablets, the central tablet inlaid with a stylised segmented flowerhead within an eight-point star, encompassed by a circular border, flanked to each end by a lozenge within a conforming surround, the top with an ovolo moulded edge, above a slide, over one long central and two short quarter veneered drawers, with two short conforming drawers flanking the kneehole, on square section cabriole legs terminating in hoof sabots, with quarter veneered ends centred by lozenge tablets, 122cm wide x 66cm deep x 82cm high, (48in wide x 25 1/2in deep x 32in high)
