Description
Rare French WWII propaganda poster 'Black Market - Crime Against the Community' (Marche Noir - Crime Contre La Communaute), by Philippe Henri Noyer (1917-1985). Silhouettes of two men wearing black coats and hats exchanging some bread and money behind their backs with a noose hanging above them, easy recognizable stereotypes. Poster no. 533, Equipe 'Alain Fournier' Lyon, Imp. Reunies Lyon, dated February 1943, 44 x 30.5 inches. Large printed poster, partly overpainted by hand. Creased, loss bottom right corner margin not affecting image area, 3-inch tear at bottom margin, old tape repair on verso. Very good.
