Description
Mexican Maskmaker [20th Century]. "Mexican Mask [Traditional - 0125]. Huehue Mask, from the Danza del Ano Viejo, Tenampa, State of Veracruz [Mexico]". Hand-painted polychrome, hand-carved natural hardwood sculpture with natural fibers. 1960s. A "danced" mask. Not made for the tourist trade or for sale, but created by the indigenous person to be used only in a ceremonial dance. Overall condition good. Approx. 9 1/2in high, 7in wide, 4 1/2in deep (246mm x 177mm x 115mm). KM Inv #MA0023. [26216] {K90}
