Description
Irving Amen, American, 1918 to 2011, Judaica woodcut print on paper, Eve of The Sabbath. Signed in pencil lower right. Numbered 61 of 75 and titled in pencil lower left. Framed. Irving Amen was an American painter, printmaker and sculptor. In 1974 he illustrated The Epic of Gilgamesh in linocuts and woodcuts for the Limited Editions Club. He designed a set of stained glass windows depicting the Twelve Tribes of Israel for Agudas Achim Synagogue in Bexley, Ohio.[1][5] His work often depicts themes of Judaism, chess, people, music, Italy, and Don Quixote. Condition
Overall good condition. Signs of age and wear. Yellowing at edges, some dark stains on surface. Refer to photos. Sold as is.
