A Mstislav Dobuzhinsky, Russian, Lithuanian, 1875 to 1957, charcoal on paper drawing depicting Napoleon in an Orthodox church in Russia, circa 1910. Probably, the drawing was inspired by Vasily Vereshchagin's painting: At the stage. Bad news from France, circa 1887 - 1895. Signed by the artist lower right. Matted. Mstislav Valerianovich Dobuzhinsky was a master of the urban landscape, illustrator, theater artist, member of the creative association Mir iskusstva (World of Art), art critic, memoirist.
