A FAUX-BOIS PORCELAIN CUP APOCRYPHAL MARK OF EMPEROR TONGZHI CHINA, LATE QING DYNASTY, CIRCA 1900 It rests on a short ring foot and has a round body with an everted rim. The outer part of the body as well as that of the foot is covered with a wood-imitation (or faux bois) glaze in orange coral tones. The base bears an apocryphal four-character mark of Emperor Tongzhi in iron red within a double square. It also bears a Jian Ding wax seal of exportation.
