A FAMILLE VERTE 'IMMORTALS' BELL-SHAPED CUP, KANGXI MARK AND POSSIBLY OF PERIOD
China, 1661-1722 or later in the Qing dynasty (1644-1912). With a flaring rim tapering to a small foot, finely painted in polychrome enamels and iron-red above the glaze, depicting Zhang Guo Lao crossing a bridge on his donkey, accompanied by his chuckling attendant. The recessed base with a six-character Kangxi mark within a double circle, all in underglaze blue.
Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by second generation members of the Holzapfel family after 1990 and has remained in the family ever since.
Condition: Excellent condition with minor wear.
