Description
Item/Description: Empire style marble and patinated bronze mantle clock. Mounted with bronze relief panels featuring classical Greek figural scenes, winged paw feet on front. Dial marked Tiffany & Co New York. Bezel is inscribed to the Rev Charles Frederick Hoffman from Laura V Vail A.D. 1858. (Egyptian Revival, Time Piece)
Reverend CH Hoffman D.D. was president of Hobart College in Geneva, New York and Rector of All Angel's Church in New York City. He was married to Elanor Louisa Vail. Laura Virginia Wharton-Bickley (Vail) was the sister of Elanor. Perhaps this was a gift for her Brother-in-law.

Condition: Beveled glass crystal is cracked and damaged. Missing marble strip above plaque on left side. Chipping, age, wear. Clock will wind and tick, but will eventually stop. May need to be cleaned and/or serviced. Clock is sold as-is for parts or repair
