WORKMASTER: Feodor Alexeievich Afanasiev was apprenticed to the silversmith E. Sistonen 1883 and 1888 and worked as a journeyman, for the jeweller Karl Bokh from 1888 to 1907. While employed by Bock, he worked on his master's degree, was granted his rights and certificate in 1907, and allowed to use a master's mark, the use of which was strictly enforced by assay laws in Imperial Russia. Thereafter he ran a small workshop for FABERGE at 24 Bolshaya Morskaya specializing in miniature Easter Eggs, small articles made of silver-gilt and guilloche enamel and hardstone objects mounted with enamelled silver-gilt mounts. His mark is FA in Russian Cyrillic (FA).

WIKIPEDIA: Alexandra Feodorovna (6 June 1872 - 17 July 1918) was Empress of Russia as the spouse of Nicholas II - the last ruler of the Russian Empire - from their marriage on 26 November 1894 until his forced abdication on 15 March 1917. Originally Princhess Alix of Hesse and by Rhine at birth, she was given the name and patronymic Alexandra Feodorovna upon being received into the Russian Orthodox Church and - having been killed along with her immediate family while in Bolshevik captivity in 1918 - was canonized in 2,000 as Saint Alexandra the Passion Bearer. A granddaughter of Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom, Alexandra was, like her grandmother, one of the most famous royal carriers of the haemophilia disease.
