AMERICAN SCHOOL (20TH CENTURY) "THE WAYSIDE SMITHY" LANDSCAPE PAINTING, oil on canvas, a summer scene featuring a dirt lane leading to a wooden-frame carriage shop with carriage to front, wagon and wagon wheels to side, a red-painted blacksmith shop with blacksmith visible working through the doorway, a man steadying a horse to front, and a white-painted tavern beyond in center, surrounded by tall trees and green fields. Titled bottom center, signed "C.D. Brook / 28" lower right. Housed in a period molded, giltwood frame. Circa 1928. 21 1/2" x 33 1/2" sight, 28" x 40" OA.
