FINE PHILADELPHIA CHIPPENDALE WALNUT CHEST OF DRAWERS, rectangular molded-edge overhanging top above two short drawers over three graduated drawers flanked by fluted quarter columns, and solid ends raised on ogee bracket feet, inscribed in pencil on underside of right hand drawer bottom "Right" and "Repaired/ (february?) 7th 1849/ (Benj or By) J Br(yant)". Poplar, cedar, and pine secondary woods. Retains an old refinished surface with warm color. Fourth quarter 18th century. 34" H, 33" W, 20 1/2" D.
