SCHERMERHORN POTTERY, RICHMOND, VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, designated three-gallon capacity, ovoid form with flat-top rounded rim, incised shoulder rings, and applied arched handles. Brushed cobalt horizontal floral design to each side featuring round double blossoms with foliate, "3" under each handle, and additional cobalt across handles. John P. Schermerhorn (1788-1850), Richmond Factory, Henrico County, VA. 1817-1837. 14 1/8" HOA, 6 3/4" D rim.
