FANG BYERI RELIQUARY GUARDIAN HEAD: Fang reliquary guardian figures are ritual objects used by the Byeri to obtain their goodwill. The fetish appears to be a hornet's nest and the wood is dry/brittle with various age cracks throughout. Measures approximately 19" tall. Purchased for $800 from an African Art Gallery in Boston several years ago.
