瓶以貴金屬爲胎,為有線七寶燒,外飾以石英爲主體原料,並配合紫、綠、橙、藍等色釉料燒製而成,釉色透明宛如琉璃,光芒外放。構圖用細金屬絲掐成錦地與龍紋為主題的圖案輪廓,紫色地似藍絲絨,蒼龍雙角,雙眼外凸,獅鼻平脗,仰首張口,髮鬚側展,四足弓張凶猛剛健,扭動的肢體圍繞橙色火燄,翻騰之狀彷彿環繞於紫氣之中,展現唯我獨尊的懾人氣勢。
七寶燒出自日語「七宝」( ã—ã£ã½ã†ã‚„ã ),中國常稱為琺瑯或景泰藍,為日本特有的傳統藝術,於明治時期創製之初即體現其獨特魅力。皇室、家族所訂製的七寶燒極為華美,宛如世間珍寶,日本人認爲是用到金、銀、珍珠、翡翠、水晶等珍貴材料製成,整體煥發之彩恰如佛經提到的七種珍寶之色,故取「七寶」美名。其製作過程同景泰藍相似,以金屬為胎,附一層透明釉,常為矽、水晶等礦物細粉調製,在高溫下燒製,使熔釉玻璃質料附於坯體表面,呈現出美麗色彩。該技法源自中東,經絲綢之路傳入中國,爾後進一步傳入日本,於明治時期將此工藝發揮到極致,又依照製作方法可分為有線和無線兩種。有線七寶燒需經過30 多道工序,包含製胎、掐絲、燒焊、點釉、燒釉、打磨和鍍光等,又以掐絲和點釉技術最為複雜,並再經過多次燒釉和打磨,極為不易。本品精心燒製,器型規整,胎骨輕薄,線條纖細,釉料細膩明豔,璀璨華麗,紋樣於典雅中賦予靈動的視覺效果,為明治時期七寶燒陳設器之精品。
