青白玉質，堅實細密，色澤光潔柔潤。壺直口，豐肩，扁腹，下承橢圓形圈足。壺體打磨光潔，一面留有灑金皮色，別具韻味。通體以各種不同材質及染色、敷色、貼金、拼黏、雕刻等多種手法表現，一面有涼亭、綠樹及怪石，鸚鵡停佇於涼亭一隅，亭外童子手捧食器逗弄，充滿活潑童趣；畫面延伸至另面為一幅清雅美景，湖水蕩漾，石橋搭建，蒼松茂密，空中祥雲飄逸，翠鳥遨遊天際，氣氛優雅靜謐。
十八世紀末，日本出現一種與眾不同的鑲嵌風格，被稱為「芝山象嵌」，是以貝殼等各種材料進行精細雕刻和鑲嵌的手工藝術作品。以京都津田家族頗負盛名，其以中國舊有素面鼻煙壺為主體，再加以鑲嵌各類玉石，始於津田宗貫，在1868－1934年所製百寶嵌鼻煙壺極為興盛，呈現日本高超精緻的嵌飾技術，受國際鼻煙壺藏家追捧。
本件鼻煙壺整體鑲嵌精細入微，展現如浮雕般裝飾感，所敷設彩料於盈潤玉質映襯下，絢麗而不失含蓄，風格清逸，畫面極富層次，為清代玉壺與日本鑲嵌工藝的完美結合，散發豐厚文化底蘊，盈握掌間，堪稱雅玩。拍場相似之例可參見拍賣於中貿聖佳2018年6月20日，編號1417，清乾隆〈白玉鑲嵌課子圖煙壺〉，與本品皆為精緻鑲嵌工藝之作，可資參考。
