The photograph, "Sincerely Yours," bust portrait by Rivers Studio, showing her looking into the camera. Signed in the image, lower right. 5x3¼ inches; mounted to interior page of presentation folder and matted. The letter, to Eddie Sousa, agreeing to send a signed photograph [present], sending prayers and best wishes and, in a postscript, adding "Please let the patients know that I am never too busy to bring a little sunshine into the lives of my fellow men. Whatever I can do to brighten a dark day, I am happy to do it." 1 page, 4to, "National Council of Negro Women" stationery; horizontal folds. Washington, 19 September 1949
