A SAMANID CONICAL POTTERY BOWL, 9th - 10th CENTURY
East Persia. The bowl rising from a short foot, decorated in black and red on off-white ground, with a central roundel bearing interlace within a wide band of chain motif, the exterior with five leave-shaped decorations.
Provenance: British private collection, acquired in the 1960s.
Condition: The bowl with several repaired breakages, and minor material loss.
Weight: 347.8 g
