A PAIR OF TURQUOISE SILK SLEEVE BANDS, LATE QING DYNASTY
China, Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century. Finely executed in Beijing knot and satin stitch, with gold threads on a dark turquoise green 'bats and ruyi' silk ground, depicting a deity riding on a qilin, below his attendant, surrounded by pine trees, peonies, bats, and butterflies.
Provenance: Austrian private collection.
Condition: Very good condition, loose threads, and little soiling.
Dimensions: Size ca. 91 x 20.5 cm (each)
