A RED GROUND EMBROIDERED SILK ROBE, QING
China, Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century. Finely crafted in brocade, depicting ten five-clawed dragons pursuing flaming pearls, two dragons partially hidden behind the sleeve flaps, interspersed by clouds, bats and auspicious symbols, all above turbulent waves, the collar framed by a woven border with a peony in Beijing stitch.
Provenance: French private collection.
Condition: Good condition, soiling, and loose threads.
