Description
A RARE PAIR OF COPPER-RED, LIDDED PORCELAIN JARLETS DEPICTING GOATS, 1900s
China, late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) - Republic period (1912-1949). Each finely executed, the globular body rising from a recessed foot to a narrow cylindrical neck surmounted by a doomed lid, decorated in underglaze copper-red with goats, the foot rim and neck left unglazed. The base with an apocryphal six-character Kangxi mark in underglaze blue.

Condition: Very good condition with minor wear and minimal firing flaws. One lid with two short hairless and the other with a small chip to rim.
Provenance: A notable private collector in Kensington, London, United Kingdom, acquired in the American trade.
