A BLUE AND WHITE 'POEM' BOWL, LATE QING DYNASTY
China, Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century. Of hexagonal shape, with steep sides and flared, barbed rim, the center with an apocryphal six-character Yongle reign mark within a double-lined hexagon. A neatly inscribed poem and picturesque river landscape with a boat and passengers.
Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by second generation members of the Holzapfel family after 1990 and has remained in the family ever since.
Condition: good condition with usual wear, light surface scratches, chips to the rims, minor losses to the glaze, and manufacturing flaws such as dark spots and pitting.
