Description
A BLUE AND WHITE KANGXI REVIVAL BOWL, LATE QING TO REPUBLIC
China, late Qing dynasty (1644-1912) to Republic period (1912-1949). The deep rounded sides rising from a tall foot to a straight rim, the exterior decorated with ornate bands, lotus scrolls and a double circle band on the foot. A lingzhi motif within a double circle to the interior. The recessed base with an apocryphal six-character Kangxi reign mark within a double circle.
Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by second generation members of the Holzapfel family after 1990 and has remained in the family ever since.
Condition: Excellent condition, minor manufacturing flaws such as glaze recesses.
