Description
A CORAL-GROUND 'FLORAL' WUCAI BOWL, QING
China, Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century. Delicately potted, with deep rounded sides rising from a short, slightly spreading foot to an everted rim, the exterior decorated in polychrome enamels with various flowering blooms, including peony, lily, camellia and crab-apple, borne on feathery leaves interspersed with buds, all on a rich iron-red ground. The recessed white base with an apocryphal underglaze-blue four-character Kangxi mark within a double-square.
Condition: Excellent condition with only minor wear and minimal firing flaws.
