China, Han dynasty (206 BC-220 AD). Modeled as a court lady's head, the face painted in white, red and black, with delicate features, framed by black hair, with two apertures for previous mounting of a headdress.
Provenance: Private collection, Belgium.
Condition: Commensurate with age, wear to the pigments, minuscule chips, and encrustations.
