A HARDWOOD AND REVERSE GLASS PAINTED FOUR-PANEL SCREEN, QING
China, 1644-1912. Carved in high relief with bats and Shou medallions as well as confronting chilong, the reverse glass paintings with dignitaries, scholars, and others engaged in various scenes as well as landscape paintings.
Condition: Cracks, losses and extensive wear.
Provenance: From the collection of Alexander Popov in Novi Sad, Kingdom of Serbia, acquired between 1900-1920.
Dimensions: Size 163.4 x 31.4 cm (each panel).
