Bill “Bojangles” Robinson ALS Re: Photos for the Troops
Vaudeville and film star Bill "Bojangles" Robinson (1878-1949) Autograph Letter Signed, “Bill Robinson”, 1p, on his personal stationery, 7.5” x 10”, New York City, August 18, 1941. Lightly creased, staple at top left, scattered spotting, else Very Good condition. Accompanied by a typed military memo from the 372nd Infantry in Fort Dix, New Jersey.
Robinson’s letter to Captain Dorsey Owings, in full, “I regret I've been so long in returning the photos as I promised - But, better late than never. As the old saying goes - Please see that the Boys get these - And tell them I really enjoyed my short stay with them and hope I can do it again some time. Thanks for other photos you sent me.”
