Description
A group of 2 Longquan celadon censers dating from the Yuan dynasty. The group includes: a tripod censer and a censer with a pair of handles.
Dimensions are: the tripod measures 1 3/4 inches tall X 3 1/4 inches wide, 3.17 cm X 8.25 cm, the handles censer measures 2 3/4 inches tall X 2 1/2 inches wide, 6.98 cm X 6.35 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Provenance: From Mr. Ketcherside in Arkansas. Purchased from a storage unit. It comes with a price tag from the National Museum of the Philippines, possibly indicating that it has previously been assessed by the museum for export purposes. Lots 112 to 132 are from the same collection.
Condition: The tripod censer has a break to 1 foot, the censer with handles has a large crack to the rim, several glaze cracks, a crack to the body, an area of repair to the rim and top of 1 handle including overpainting.
