A Worcester armorial mug and a teabowl and saucer, circa 1757-58
The bell-shaped mug enamelled with a coat of arms superimposed onto a European landscape, the arms of Tracy impaling Bathurst contained within a puce rococo cartouche, flanked by flower sprays in purple, 11.5cm high, together with a teabowl and saucer painted with Meissen-style flowers, saucer 11.7cm diam (3)

A matching smaller mug is illustrated by H Rissik Marshall, Coloured Worcester Porcelain (1950), pl.35, no.764. Robert Tracy stood as MP for Worcester in 1748 and the arms of Tracy alone occur on the Tracy Mug, one of the most celebrated pieces of early Worcester porcelain.
