A fine Worcester plate, circa 1772-75
Moulded with a twelve-lobed rim after Meissen, finely painted in blue with the 'Garden Table' pattern of stylised flowering peonies and chrysanthemum issuing from rocks, a group of precious objects upon a table supported by hollow roots, an elaborate 'Fitzhugh' border around the rim, 24.2cm diam

Very few examples of this pattern are known in Worcester. A serving dish formerly with Geoffrey Godden is illustrated by Branyan, French and Sandon, Worcester Blue and White Porcelain (1989), p.221 (I.D.29). A printed version of this pattern was produced at Caughley, see The Caughley Society, Caughley Blue and White Patterns (2012), p.161 pattern E25.

Condition
In good condition with no damage. There is a tiny firing flaw to the glaze near the cavetto, which is less than 2mm in length and barely visible, of no significance.
