In 2010 Patek Philippe released the Reference 5160 retrograde perpetual calendar. It was made as a very limited production piece with the officers style case opening to reveal the glazed back. Under 40 pieces of each colour gold were made. The engraving is meticulously designed and reproduced on each piece. The original design is based on one made for a customer as a single customised piece. Patek Philippe decided to make it in series as the result was so striking but still keeping each watch individually hand engraved.

Very few Reference 5160's have appeared at auction to date which is an indication of its rarity and popularity amongst its owners.
