Description
On the base is a six-character square seal (made in the Daoguang reign of the Qing dynasty) in underglaze blue, surrounded by blue enamel. The inside of the box is also enamelled in blue.Â
On the lid is a central enamel scene depicting a river passage in a rocky landscape with houses, trees and two figures in a boat. The rim of the box has a coral enamelled background, which is decorated on top with a band of peonies with leaves, and another with flowers and scrolls. On a carved wooden base.
