Pair of Majestic Chinese Qing Dynasty Daoguang Reign Period gilt over red glazed dragon porcelain bowls. The porcelain potted with a shallow body, of a shallow vessel, broad wide cavetto, with a flaring opening lip, raised on a small round slightly raised footing. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in ruby red underglaze base color which contrast against the Famille rose design color and gilt fine color. Famille rose hand painting depicted vividly hand painted in enamel design, famille rose translates to the pink family, on a colored ground decoration. Each bulging sides enclosing colorful falangcai, famille rose on a colored ground decoration, of Bajixiang. The exterior adorned with rectangle medallion describe folk on the market in various pursuit, amidst scrolling ruyi, cumulus clouds, banded with repeating gematric pattern. Round medallion with Chinese calligraphy poems with red seal mark enclosed with thick line ring. Interlocking key fret pattern decorated on the foot base rim. The Inner bowl reserved in a ruby red base color, adorned with scrolling repeating Tao tie mask on the inner mouth rim, and five claws imperial dragon soaring amidst flames and vapors, with face and upper right appendage outstretched toward the heavens. Vigorous dragons chasing flaming pearl amidst flames against cobalt blue scrolling clouds diaper. The backdrop depicts swirling wind and fire painted in gilt color atop a beautiful ruby red underglaze. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fecundity, the Li-Shui wave pattern which is known to be the abode of dragons. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design. The color is balanced, elegant and exquisite. The porcelain displays a subtle sheen as the light ricochets across the finely glazed exterior. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design.
