DATE: 2007
PUBLISHER: Art Media Resources
SIZE: 10 x 12 inches, 143 pages (hardcover, with dustjacket).
CONDITION: Excellent, new.
COMMENTS: This excellent collector's guide is a catalogue raisonne, containing all of the first 100 lifetime works of Paul Binnie (each in full color) and spans Paul's interests from Kabuki theater and Japanese tattoo to landscapes and "bi-jin" (beauties). Each print detailed individually--plus essays by Kendall H. Brown, Paul Griffith, and Akama Ryo (full text in English). Plus a 17 step-by-step photo demonstration of printing process.
AND
TITLE: Frank Lloyd Wright and the Art of Japan: The Architect's Other Passion" by Julia Meech

SIZE: 9 1/4 x 11 1/2 inches, 304 pages (hardcover, with dustjacket).
CONDITION: Excellent, new.
COMMENTS: Lavishly illustrated with 229 illustrations (includes 89 full color plates from Wright's personal collection). We learn Wright became a very significant international dealer of Japanese prints during the 1905-22 period, selling perhaps as many as 20,000 prints during that period alone.
AND
TITLE: "Mount Fuji: Sacred Mountain of Japan" by Chris Uhlenbeck, Merel Molenaar.
DATE: 2000
PUBLISHER: Hotei Publishing.
SIZE: 9 3/4 x 11 3/4 inches, 127 pages (stiff softcover).
CONDITION: Excellent, new.
COMMENTS: Japan's sacred Mount Fuji has always stirred the imagination of artists including the greats Hokusai and Hiroshige, who have attempted to capture the spirit of the mountain in their designs. This book offers an overview of the many faces of Mount Fuji as seen through a variety of artists. The introduction focuses on Mount Fuji in mythology, early portrayal, pilgrimage history, and its depiction in Japanese prints -- in particular, in the work of Hokusai and Hiroshige.
