Kiakshuk (1886-1966) Cape Dorset / Kinngait. A fine Inuit etching by a well regarded Cape Dorset / Kinngait artist. The work is signed and numbered (edition of 50) in pencil. Measures: H 14 1/2" x W 16 3/4" Sight: 9 1/2" x 12 1/4" Provenance: From the estate collection of John Stage. Mr. Stage was a well regarded and widely known photojournalist. His work was used in many prominent publications from the 1950's onwards. The following provided courtesy of the Stage Family. As a freelance photojournalist for 38 years, assignments from magazines (Holiday, Life, Look, National Geographic, Travel & Leisure, Town & Country), book publishers and occasional advertising agencies took him to all 50 states and more than 100 foreign countries.
