George Romney (British, 1734-1802), Portrait of Henry Russell
oil on canvas (lined), unsigned, framed with gallery plaque.
Stretcher size 30 x 25 in.; Frame dimensions 35 x 30 1/4 in.
Henry Russell was the third son of Michael Russell of Dover. He was born on August 19, 1751. He served as P.C., Chief Justice in Bengal, and Commissary of the Vice-Admiralty Court in Bengal. He was created a baronet on December 10, 1812. He died January 18, 1836.
