Taylor, 1803), small folio (14 in.), 16, 222 (2) pp., bound with later 19th century red morocco boards having gilt embellishments; engraved frontis portrait of Repton, dedication to the King, explanatory advertisement, preface, List of Places, plus two-page Index and a List of Illustrations, gilt to page edges; all illustrations are present, including fifteen plates (one folding) with overlays enabling "before and after" landscaping views of the various properties, of these ten are variously tinted or hand-colored.
The creative landscaping ideas of Humphry Repton (1752-1818) are ably presented in this book illustrating his use of water, trees, and shrubbery to create serene park-like environments in some very challenging settings.

Condition
The boards with shelf wear to the extremities, but generally retaining solid color with full gilt; the top hinge has splits; the frontis portrait of Repton is present, though loose; generally clean and tightly bound text, some offsetting from the plates; overall very good condition.
