Bureau plat desk, 19th century, Louis XV style

Davids notes: This is an impressive bureau plat desk, and heavy as hell. It measures 58 inches wide, 32 inches high and 31 inches deep.

The front part of the desk is bleached out, probably from exposure to sunlight for 50 to 75 years. This is the side of the desk that has the drawers. The other side was kept out of the sun and has the deep rich reddish brown color still in the veneer, and shows you what the desk looked like originally all around. That side has faux drawers, it's not a partners desk.

Appears to be handmade, quality exceptional, and this type of piece when properly restored, should be worth 25,000 to 50,000 with the right customer. It is expected to bring 500.00 to 2500.00 in this condition on June 12th at our auction.
