Item Details
Description
This WWII poster was created by the Army Air Force and was used for training purposes. Printed just as the US entered the War, it details the safest way to land a hit plane in non-ideal settings. Pictured here is the B-26, one of the bombers used most heavily by the US Air Force at the beginning of WWII. Created for speed and efficiency, the B-26 was often called "The Widowmaker" for its dangerous and harsh landings at high speeds. Here we see one such crash, and the tips on how to best handle leaving the plane for safety. Given the extensive air battles at the beginning of the War, and the B-26's less than positive crash rating, this training poster would have been studied intensely. This is an Original Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction. This poster is conservation mounted, linen backed, and in excellent condition. We guarantee the authenticity of all our posters.
