A fine album of views, mostly relating to Kashmir and Northern India, by or attributable to Samuel Bourne, including images taken during his three extensive photographic expeditions which took him to Chini and Spiti (1863), Kashmir (1864), 'where verdant landscapes inspired some of his finest photographs...' (ODNB), and the source of the Ganges at the base of Ganotri glacier (1866), together with some slightly later images in Ceylon/Sri Lanka and elsewhere.
