Description
19th c. Straits Chinese Baba offering table box (chanab) for a sam kai offering table, Penang, Malacca, or Singapore. The primary structure with gilded openwork decoration depicting a court scene on one side and graceful plants on the other. The six-sided wooden box is carved, lacquered, and gilded with a detailed interior scene.
