Description
A Chinese bronze sculpted hand, probably from a Buddhist statue, dating from the Ming dynasty. It is mounted on a wood stand. If it is Buddhist, it may be in the dhyana mudra.
Dimensions are: 11 inches tall X 3 1/4 inches wide, 27.9 cm X 8.3 cm. Weight: with its stand, it weighs 2550 grams. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: There is age appropriate wear including loss to one fingertip. The wood stand has some loss to one side.
Provenance: From the estate of Lim Kee Chin, who was Singapore's trade commissioner to Hong Kong in the 1960s. Mr. Lim acquired these items while he was in Hong Kong.
