Description
Cast metal depicting a Clara Bow-like nymph with wings and horns, standing on an Art Deco style base reading "'IT.'" Apparently produced to commemorate her 1927 hit film. Clara Bow was presented with a matching figure in November 1929, at the Roosevelt Hotel, home of the first Academy Awards, by Mr. G. C. Ranney on behalf of the artist. Two figures, and two lamps using it, are known to exist. The artist is unknown, but it is in the style of Frankart and it was stated in the article he was an 'eastern sculptor.' Measures 15" tall. Good overall condition, old repair is visible on one of wings.
