A Korean Tansu Chest
Joseon period (1392-1910), 19th century, this bandaji or blanket chest is handcrafted in wood and embellished with original brass trim, mounted with intricate fittings, including handles, hinges and lock plate, hinged door on front opens downward to reveal and open interior for storage.

Warped top bowing inwards towards center; wear areas of discoloration to surface; stress cracks to wood throughout; stand attached to cabinet; wear and loss to edges especially corners.
